La Roseraie (the rose garden) is a lovely one bedroom garden apartment situated in a quiet cul-de-sac off the Grand Promenade, the tree lined main street of St Gengoux. Although close to the centre of the village the property is both peaceful and private being backed by mature pine trees.
To the front of the apartment is a lovely south facing garden
area with seating, while to the side is a large graveled area with dining table and barbeque; the whole area is laid out with trees, shrubs and potted plants. There is secure gated parking at the property.
Inside comprises a spacious sitting room, with soft seating, TV / DVD, music system and a wood burning stove; a modern well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine etc; a light and airy double bedroom and a toilet / shower room. The apartment is all on one level.
Rue des Ecoles is only a few minutes walk from the centre of the medieval village of St Gengoux, which has a beautiful church and many interesting medieval buildings. The village itself is surrounded by very picturesque countryside, much of which is covered by vines. There are numerous marked walks around the village and the voie vert cycle track passes though.
There is a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants in the village, and a large bustling market every other Tuesday morning. The local wine cave cooperative is only a short stroll away.
St Gengoux is in the heart of Southern Burgundy less than 20 minutes drive from the A6 at Chalon sur Saône.
